You can pause now
Set 02, 2026
Tucunaré has one rule: you're bigger, or you're lunch. No health bars, no chip damage — every encounter is settled in a single frame. It's what makes a good run feel like a tightrope.
It's also what made stepping away brutal. The doorbell rings, you glance down, and a bull shark has eaten the streak you spent five minutes building. So we added the most-requested thing in the game: a pause.
- Everything freezes. Spawns, critters and your leader all stop cold. The river holds its breath until you're back.
- Two ways in. Tap ESC on desktop, or the mute-style button that now lives in the HUD.
- No misfires. The button only appears mid-run — never on the start or game-over screen — and tapping it can't accidentally restart your game.
Small feature, but it's the difference between a game you respect and one you actually keep open. Hit pause, deal with life, come back to the exact river you left.
That's the whole philosophy behind Tucunaré: small, polished, hard to put down — and now, easy to step away from.
